Are you concerned about climate change? Human health? Animal suffering? Planetary health?

I am, and I have been ever since I learned about the impacts humans are having on the environment way back in 1989. At that time I became vegetarian, sold my car, and devoted myself to a path of voluntary simplicity and community service. For ten years I published the Victoria Street Newz, sold by low income vendors in our town. I've also worked with developmentally disabled adults in group homes and day programs, and with special needs kids as an Educational Assistant in the public school system. Through these years I volunteered as a community radio host, producing the Winds of Change program focussed on peace, social justice, environmental issues, and animal justice.

Then Covid happened and, like so many, I began to shift gears again. Calling on my radio experience I launched the Plant Powered Radio video series, then extended it to air at CFUV community radio, and also in podcast format on various platforms. Thanks to generosity from the Canadian government I've been able to socially isolate and produce a new program each week ... until now.

Unfortunately, the government's financial support is ending. I want to keep PPR ad-free and independent so I'm looking for part time work I can do from home, and I'm also reaching out for listener support so I can continue this important work.

Since Spring 2020 Plant Powered Radio has featured interviews with prominent Vegans from around the world including artists, policy makers, activists, musicians, scientists, healthcare professionals, environmentalists, entertainers, sanctuary workers, undercover investigators, teachers, researchers, eco-feminists, healers, and more. Guests share their Vegan experiences across a diverse array of ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, nationalities, political opinions, and lifetime challenges.

If you're interested in helping me continue to support the work of these wonderful plant powered individuals, any amount you can share will be most graciously received, and responsibly distributed. As mentioned, my lifestyle is simple. I eat only plants. I ride a bike. I shop at a zero waste store. I donate to local sanctuaries. I support my community by buying local and non-corporate whenever I can.
